History

The hotels in Jamaica is a proving ground for all young musicians, and the SIXTH REVELATION soon dominated the industry, moving from hotel to hotel as entertainment managers vied for their services.

During this time the SIXTH REVELATION entered into the field of record production, writing original songs and music was nothing new to the band.

They were constantly asked to provide music for a host of artists both live and in the studios, many Jamaican artists have associated with SIXTH REVELATION throughout the years. Artists such as The Mighty Diamonds, Josey Wales, Charlie Chaplain and many others have cause to respect the musical abilities of the SIXTH REVELATION.

They have appeared live on the same shows with many of reggae's greatest artists such as the legendary Bunny Wailer, Burning Spear, Jimmy Cliff, Third World, Beenie Man and many others.

SIXTH REVELATION began in the dance halls of Jamaica and they are always at the forefront of the development of reggae music in all it's forms.
 

Throughout the years SIXTH REVELATION receives the greatest praise and adoration for their super dynamic live performances.
Because of this in 1986 thea where asked to tour Japan for six months. Since that time the band has continued to tour the world bringing their reggae music to all parts of the world. Tours and long stopovers in place as far a field as Thailand, Canada and America becoming common. Including four more extensive tours of Japan, each lasting six months at a time.

SIXTH REVELATION first came to Europe in 1992 where they performed at the very first Chiemsee Reggae Festival in Germany. 

The theme song for the Chiemsee Reggae Festival was written, arranged, recorded and performed by the band.

To date the band has recorded five albums and eight singles. They have also made seven music
videos. Four of which were arranged and directed by the members of SIXTH REVELATION.
The song “The First Cut Is The Deepest” reached the Top 20 in 1995.

SIXTH REVELATIONs studioalbum “Walking On The Rainbow” was released in May 2002. 

22.11.2004: Sixth Revelation wins the GERMAN ROCK & POP AWARD 2004 ("Deutscher Rock & Pop Preis 2004") in Hamburg.

2005 werden die Jamaikaner mit dem 1. German Reggae Grammy in der Kategorie "Beste Band" geehrt.

Die Hotels in Jamaika sind ein Prüffeld für allen jungen Musiker und SIXTH REVELATION beherrschten diese Unterhaltungsindustrie bald und zogen von Hotel zu Hotel, die Manager rissen sich um sie.

In dieser Zeit haben SIXTH REVELATION auch angefangen Platten zu produzieren, Songs und Texte schrieb die Band schon seit einiger Zeit selbst.

Sie wurden mehrfach gebeten, andere Künster zu begleiten - live und in Studios. Viele jamaikanischen Künster haben während dieser Zeit mit SIXTH REVELATION gearbeitet. Künster wie die Mighty Diamonds, Josey Wales, Charlie Chaplain und viele andere respektieren die musikalischen Fähigkeiten don SIXTH REVELATION.

Die Band ist schon mit vielen großen Reggaekünstlern aufgetreten, wie zum Beispiel dem legendären Bunny Wailer, Burning Spear, Jimmy Cliff, Third World, Beenie Man und vielen anderen.

SIXTH REVELATION fingen in den Dance Halls von Jamaika an und sind immer an der vordersten Front, die Entwicklung der Reggaemusik in all ihren Formen voranzutreiben.
 

Über Jahre hinweg werden SIXTH REVELATION für ihre dynamischen Live-Auftritte gelobt und gefeiert. Aus diesem Grund werden sie 1986 gebeten, für sechs Monate durch Japan zu touren. Diese Tour war für die Band der Beginn, die Welt zu bereisen und ihre Reggaemusik in alle Teile der Welt zu bringen. 
Touren und lange Aufenthalte in Thailand, Kanada und Amerika wurden alltäglich. Einschließlich vier umfangreicherer Touren in Japan, von denen jede einzelne sechs Monate dauerte. 
SIXTH REVELATION kam 1992 zum ersten Mal nach Europa, wo sie in Deutschland am ersten Chiemsee Reggae Festival überhaupt teilnahmen.

Der Titelsong für das Chiemsee Reggae Festival wurde von der Band geschrieben, arrangiert, aufgenommen und gespielt.

Bis heute hat die Band fünf Alben aufgenommen und acht Singles herausgebracht. Sie haben sieben Musikvideos gemacht, bei vier davon haben die Mitglieder der Band selbst Regie geführt.
Der Song "The First Cut Is The Deepest" erreichte 1995 die Top 20 der Charts.

Ihr viertes Studio Album, „Walking On The Rainbow“, hat SIXTH REVELATION im Mai 2002 veröffentlicht.

 22.11.2004: Sixth Revelation gewinnt den DEUTSCHEN ROCK & POP PREIS 2004 in Hamburg.

in 2005 the Jamaicans receive the 1. German Reggae Grammy as "Best Band".

Das erste Live Album, SIXTH REVELATION LIVE!, aufgenommen bei der Deutschland Tour 2006, erschien im März 2007.
